Catering by Dale is a 17-year old local catering company that has recently been chosen to be ECHO, Leahy Center for Lake Champlain‘s exclusive caterer and in-house operator of the Waterside Cafe at ECHO. Susan Thompson, owner of Vermont Made Weddings and Events, purchased the company in June 2017 after an 11-year exclusive working relationship with Dale and her staff on all weddings and events. Susan and Dale met in the mid-80’s, when Dale owned and operated Jake’s Restaurant and Susan spearheaded the local Sprint office right next door. They formed a bond and Susan was able to work with the Catering by Dale “A-Team” – Executive Chef Garrett P. Bailey; Head ECHO Catering by Dale Manager Mary Norton; and Head Server Cher Goodwin – for many years. Her relationship with the staff is solid as she steers the team forward into the corporate realm, developing ECHO as a premier all-inclusive venue for all corporate meetings and events.
