Vermont is no stranger to it’s aging workforce.  To ensure a healthy and vibrant future, we need to provide our young professional community with the tools to excel on both a personal and professional level.
Burlington Young Professionals (BYP) has been a beacon for curated social capital and relevant professional benefits for close to a decade. Â Its mission to attract and retain our under 40 workforce is driven through creative programming and initiatives.
This year BYP is launching a State of the Greater Burlington Young Professional Survey in conjunction with its annual Seminar Series. Â Focusing on three key themes – housing, job preferences and civic/community engagement– the survey aims to better understand the professional, civic and personal lenses through which young professionals perceive our community and will offer insight into how their perceptions are driving their decisions and actions.
The survey is will be open from January 21 to March 1 with results presented to member businesses, associations, and city/state officials by mid- to late-March.
This survey is vital to understanding where we stand as a young professional community, and where we go from here.

The more survey participants we get, the greater the impact. Â All participants will also have the ability to win a one-night stay at Hotel Vermont.
The 2019 BYP Seminar Series - made possible by generous sponsor, New England Federal Credit Union - is launching February 19th with a civic engagement panel. Join BYP at Ri Ra Irish Pub from 5-7pm to hear from young professional civic leaders about their experience and challenges. Panelists include Rep. Dylan Giambatista, Rep. Jill Krowinski, and Burlington City Councilor Adam Roof. The panel will be moderated by Kim Anderson of Community Health Centers of Burlington.

The seminar series continues on March 19th with a storytelling workshop led by renowned storyteller, Sue Schmidt, and then again in April with a final seminar focusing on financial literacy.
