Burlington-Based Xander Medical Selected for Prestigious Texas Medical Center HealthTech Accelerator

BURLINGTON, VT (November 6, 2025) – Xander Medical, a pioneering MedTech startup based in Burlington, has been selected to participate in the Texas Medical Center Innovation’s (TMCi) HealthTech accelerator. Hosted by the world’s largest medical complex, TMCi is an award-winning MedTech program focused on shaping the future of healthcare, uniting promising innovators with the best minds in science and medicine.

Xander Medical was recognized for its proprietary orthopedic screw, engineered to address the significant complications and cost burdens associated with the current methods of removing stripped and broken surgical screws. The system proposes a simple, effective, and efficient removal method that eliminates the need for expensive and time-consuming screw extractor kits or compromising the surrounding biomaterial.

“We are in the fundamental stages of developing our technology for spinal applications, and our work at TMC will significantly accelerate our path through design verification,” said Xander Medical CEO Ali Bisaccia. “The program provides unmatched strategic connections, financing opportunities, and product development capabilities. This is a launchpad that will change the trajectory of our company and showcase Vermont innovation on an international stage.”

The sibling co-founders, Ali and Jackson Bisaccia, recently honed their business strategy as part of LaunchVT’s 2025 cohort, a program of the Lake Champlain Chamber dedicated to scaling outstanding Vermont-based startups. The company’s successful pitch at LaunchVT’s culminating Demo Night earned them the coveted Audience Choice Award.

“Xander Medical showcases the bold innovation we aim to see shaping Vermont’s startup economy,” said LaunchVT Director Lauren Bass. “Their efforts blend scalable technology with a dedicated focus on improving lives. LaunchVT is thrilled for Ali and Jackson as they join TMCi; this is a significant milestone and a promising indicator of Xander Medical’s bright future.”

The co-founders will relocate to Houston for six months to participate in the accelerator, where they will conduct preclinical analysis of their novel design. Their operations will be based at TMC’s Innovation Factory, a 600,000 square-foot facility of state-of-the-art labs, machine shops, and offices that house some of the world’s leading healthcare companies.

“The Lake Champlain Chamber, with the support of our community, invests in LaunchVT because we know that a vibrant startup economy is instrumental to our future economic success,” said Chamber President & CEO Catherine Davis. “It’s exciting to see a business accelerated by LaunchVT achieve this level of recognition.”
