Lake Champlain Chamber Announces Key Staff Changes

The Lake Champlain Chamber has announced recent staff changes that further our mission of providing economic opportunity for all Vermonters.

Meet Alex

Alex Bunten has been hired as the Leadership and Talent Manager at the Chamber. Originally from Vermont, Bunten spent over a decade studying and working across Europe. He has extensive international experience and a background in communications, public relations, and education. Prior to accepting this role, Bunten worked as a project manager at the Burlington Business Association.

Bunten completed an undergraduate degree from the University of St. Andrews, Scotland, and a masters degree in international relations from Uppsala University, Sweden, and the University of Deusto, Spain. Bunten lives in Charlotte with his wife and daughter. When he’s not chasing a toddler around the house or attempting to build something, he can be found fishing, canoeing or sailing Vermont’s beautiful water bodies.

The Lake Champlain Chamber does excellent work for our corner of Vermont and I’m thrilled to join the effort on the workforce development side of things. I look forward to deepening my connections with the community and building on the successes of Leadership Champlain – a program I graduated from and I got so much out of – and the Burlington Young Professionals.”

Meet Amelia

Amelia (Norris) Cayer has been hired as the Chamber’s Program Coordinator, a newly created position that will support the Chamber’s suite of workforce and economic opportunity programs. Cayer has experience in several sectors, including hospitality and non-profit. Most recently, Cayer worked as the Program & Outreach Coordinator at the Vermont Fresh Network.

Cayer received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Vermont. She now lives in Monkton with her husband, dog, and chickens. Outside of her work at the Chamber, Cayer enjoys gardening and baking, in addition to cross-country skiing and exploring the beautiful Green Mountain State and beyond.

I’m excited to be joining the team here at the Lake Champlain Chamber, and look forward to providing support for these core programs that strengthen the region’s workforce. Burlington is a special place, so I’m grateful for the opportunity to get to know the city and community even better.”
