Alex Bunten has been promoted to Director of Workforce and Education. Alex, who joined the Chamber’s staff in 2021, will lead the Chamber’s workforce development and education initiatives and programs. The goal of these programs are to support the development, retention, and attraction of a qualified regional labor force, which leads to the success and growth of the regional economy. He will work with members, employers, regional partners, and education officials on developing strategies and programs to build and strengthen Vermont’s current and future workforce. Alex will continue to lead the Chamber’s Leadership Champlain and Advance Champlain programs.

Amelia Cayer has been promoted to Director of Communications and Engagement. Amelia, who also joined the Chamber’s staff in 2021, will serve as one of the primary contacts at the Chamber for businesses and organizations, and will work closely with member organizations to support their success. She will also lead the Chamber’s communications, ensuring that timely and useful information reaches our partners. Amelia will also continue to lead the Burlington Young Professionals program.

“The Chamber’s ability to meet our mission of creating economic opportunities rests largely with our very talented team,” said Davis. “Both promotions were well deserved and I am excited to see all that both Alex and Amelia will accomplish going forward.”
