Established in 1988, Leadership Champlain is a professional development and community engagement program with a goal to develop informed, skilled leaders, foster cross-sector connections, and deepen understanding of regional issues.
This year, the Chamber is proud to recognize Community Bank, N.A. as Presenting Sponsor and Leonardo’s Pizza as Community Sponsor. Their investment helps ensure the program remains strong, accessible, and deeply connected to the community.
The incoming cohort of 31 participants launched their journey at the two-day Opening Retreat at Basin Harbor, September 18–19, where they engaged in team-building activities and trainings on CliftonStrengths and cultural competency.
Over the next nine months, participants will take part in eight full-day seminars exploring key issues and opportunities across Vermont, work in small teams on a Service Project that addresses community needs, and develop their skills through a Leader Interview presentation. The program culminates with the presentation of Service Project deliverables and a graduation ceremony, celebrating their growth as the next generation of leaders in the state.
“Leadership Champlain has an incredible history of graduates who go on to serve their organizations and communities with lasting impact,” said Cathy Davis, president of the Lake Champlain Chamber. “I know this new class will grow and develop as leaders over the next year and add to the considerable impact of this program.”
