LCC urges Biden administration to open border for non-essential Canadian travelers

LCC helps draft letter to Biden Administration

The Lake Champlain Chamber joined business associations representing North Border Communities, requesting that President Biden and Secretary Mayorkas open the US Border for non-essential Canadian travelers. The organizations stated that “extending the border closure beyond August 21 would lack scientific justification and would further exacerbate the economic and cultural damage done by the closure.”

We were pleased that the Canadian Government recently allowed American travelers to visit Canada. We would love to, once again, welcome Canadian visitors to our area and we are hopeful that the change will come very, very soon.”
