Burlington, Vt. – (August 14, 2024) After a successful pilot year, the Lake Champlain Chamber is proud to announce applications are again open for Advance Champlain, a new skills-focused leadership development program. The Chamber has been working to develop community leaders and change-makers for the past 35 years through its flagship workforce development program, Leadership Champlain, and is excited to build on that legacy.
Applications for Advance Champlain are open until October 1, 2024, and the program starts in January 2025. More information is available at www.AdvanceChamplain.org.
“This program provides a rare chance for established leaders to pause and reflect on how they show up, what their blind spots might be, and how they can better utilize their leadership skills to deliver on organizational goals,” said Alex Bunten, the Chamber’s director of workforce and education.
Advance Champlain consists of a two-day Opening Retreat at Topnotch Resort in Stowe, followed by four monthly, full-day seminars in Burlington with expert facilitators and engagements with the foremost leaders in Vermont. This includes a full day at the Vermont Air National Guard base engaging with military leadership.
Seminar days feature group discussions, reflective assignments, and workshops led by expert faculty around core competencies of leadership development such as: emotional intelligence, cultural competency, communications, project management, creativity, public speaking and organizational leadership.
Amber Hecht of Dealer.com said of her experience in the program last year: “Advance Champlain was exactly what I was looking for to re-energize my passion for my work as a leader, while investing in myself for the first time in years. Each class was curated for the improvement of soft skills, emotional intelligence and navigating the challenges that leaders face both within organizations and the community. I truly enjoyed my time in this program and wish I could do it all over again!”
Advance Champlain is open to the public with Chamber members receiving a discount on tuition. Tuition includes an overnight stay at Topnotch Resort, meals and all training. Financial assistance is available on a limited, needs basis.
