What’s Brewing in Vermont Policy and Politics?

November 30, 2022 @ 12:00 pm - 1:15 pm

This election cycle has been incredibly consequential. For six years, Governor Scott’s veto has been a moderating force in Montpelier; not anymore. On Election Day, the Democratic/Progressive party coalition nullified that force by securing nine more votes than needed to override a veto in the House and four more than needed in the Senate. It’s a paradox of sorts, the Democratic gubernatorial candidate could not win a single town in the state, yet the votes for other offices leave the Governor in a compromised position.

Drop into a Zoom discussion with Lake Champlain Chamber’s Director of Government Affairs, Austin Davis, about the coming legislative session.
