SUMMARY:13th Annual Vermont Adaptive Charity Challenge presented by Killington Resort
DESCRIPTION:The Vermont Adaptive Charity Challenge is an annual event to enjoy the beauty of Vermont through cycling\, mountain biking\, paddling\, and hiking\, all while raising funds for the state’s largest nonprofit organization committed to providing sports and recreation to people with disabilities. \nMultiple road bike ride routes loop through the towns of Killington\, Pittsfield\, Bethel\, Barnard\, Woodstock\, Ludlow\, Bridgewater\, and Plymouth\, Vermont. Or you can choose to mountain bike\, hike\, paddle\, or do a gravel ride. The monies raised from this event support the adaptive programs and athletes of Vermont Adaptive year-round. It is also used toward scholarships – Vermont Adaptive never turns anyone away based on their ability to pay. We hope you can join us for a fantastic day of friendship in support of adaptive sports! \nApres-Festival – With loads of room to spread out at the Skyeship Base Area at Killington\, we’ll have live music once again\, yummy food trucks with lots of options\, the silent auction\, and much more. \nRegistration fee includes entrance to the festival\, food\, a beer ticket\, live entertainment\, and good times! \nMore Info\, Website – Register:\nhttps://charityride.vermontadaptive.org/registration/ \nFundraising:\nOnce you raise your minimum fundraising requirement of $150\, you will receive: a commemorative event tee shirt and a Killington Ticket Voucher\, valid for one day of skiing or riding during the 2023-24 ski season or one day of mountain biking during the 2023 summer season. Not valid during Peak Dates and subject to Resort Operating Schedule. \nAbout Vermont Adaptive Ski and Sports\nVermont Adaptive Ski and Sports is a nationally recognized organization that empowers people of all abilities through inclusive sports and recreational programming regardless of ability to pay. In addition to sports\, year round programming options integrate environmental\, holistic wellness\, and competitive training philosophies for people of all ages with cognitive\, developmental\, physical and emotional disabilities. Vermont Adaptive promotes independence and furthers equality through access and instruction to sports and recreational opportunities including alpine skiing\, snowboarding\, and other winter sports; kayaking\, canoeing\, sailing\, cycling\, hiking\, rock climbing\, tennis\, horseback riding\, and more. More than 400 volunteers serve clients of all abilities with physical\, cognitive and emotional disabilities from all over the world in three winter locations in Vermont – Pico Mountain at Killington; Sugarbush Resort in Warren; and Bolton Valley Resort in Bolton as well as spring/summer/fall locations on the Burlington waterfront\, Waterbury Reservoir\, Stoughton Pond\, and a number of state parks and bike and recreation paths across the state.
