DESCRIPTION:“Leadership and Employee Morale in a Remote or Hybrid Workplace”\nREGISTER \nThe concept of remote work – whether “working from home” or otherwise – is certainly not new.  But the COVID-19 pandemic has precipitated a marked transformation in the concept. What was once the exception is practically now the rule.  People are working remotely in record numbers\, and many offices have morphed into hybrid environments meshing a centralized workforce with multiple remote participants.  The benefits of remote work are readily identifiable and meaningful\, but the challenges created by remote and hybrid workplaces may be far greater\, encompassing a host of issues:  morale\, culture\, team work\, well-being\, productivity\, recruiting and retention\, training and mentoring\, and others. In the face of these challenges\, strong leadership is more important than ever. \nJoin the Leadership Champlain Alumni Committee for our next “Media Club” on Friday\, January 21\, 2022\, at noon to discuss this relevant and intriguing topic.  We will be joined by special guest Michael Ly of Reconciled.  Michael has been on the cutting edge of remote work issues for many years\, and we are delighted to have him on board to share his insights and experience. \nIn advance of the discussion\, here are some resources to check out: \n\nMichael Ly\, Statement before the U.S. Senate Committee on Homeland Security & Governmental Affairs on Remote Work (LINK)\nRagan Communications – Remote Culture Archives\n“From Remote To Hybrid Working: The Role Of Leadership”\, Forbes\n\nLooking forward to connecting with you on the 21st! \nREGISTER \n

DESCRIPTION:“Business as a force for good”\nREGISTER \nThe idea that your place of work\, regardless of the type of organization\, can be a force for good has become even more relevant and prevalent over the last decade. Many organizations\, as agents of change\, mission-driven or purveyors of positive values\, are taking steps to be more responsible to their employees\, communities and the planet in a quest to thrive and be successful – all while improving the course of our world. \nJoin the Leadership Champlain Alumni Committee for our next “Media Club” on Friday\, Nov. 19 at noon to discuss “Business as a force for good” and some of the “good” things your organization is doing.  \nFor some perspective on this important topic\, here are a few articles from Vermont and beyond: \n– VTDigger: Amid recruiting woes\, one Vermont manufacturer is having no problems \n– ThinkVermont: Vermont certified B Corps: Using business as a force for good \n– The Patagonia story: Bringing trends to life – YouTube \nExtra credit: \n– An article by Gallup that shows how high well-being equates to a life well-lived across five critical elements. Take Care of Your People\, and They’ll Take Care of Business (gallup.com) \nRead or watch what you can and just jump into the discussion to share your thoughts and learn from others! Looking forward to connecting with you on the 19th! \n
