LCRCC Now Accepting Applications for Leadership Champlain Class of 2019

The Lake Champlain Chamber is now accepting Class of 2019 applications for its professional development program Leadership Champlain. In its 30th year, and with more than 1,000 graduates, Leadership Champlain provides participants with an immersive experience in community issues, an appreciation for the importance of diversity and inclusion in the workforce, development of individual and collaborative leadership skills, and an understanding of our civic system’s interrelationships. The program consisting of retreats, full-day seminars, service projects, discussion groups and community tours. Participants meet monthly to explore critical community issues, examine themselves as leaders, and build relationships of trust and mutual understanding. Participants represent a diverse group of rising and recognized leaders from across a wide variety of organizations representing the public, private, and nonprofit sectors.

Leadership Champlain includes a two-day retreat, eight seminar days, and two group projects. The ideal applicant for Leadership Champlain holds a position of leadership in their employment or volunteer organization and demonstrates a strong interest in and commitment to the community through significant voluntary roles in community organizations. The individual is qualified to utilize leadership skills through service for the long-term benefit of the community and has obvious potential for growing personally and effecting change. “Leadership Champlain connects leaders to our communities understanding that true professional success begins with an understanding of community issues and engagement with those issues. For over 30 years, Leadership Champlain has held to this philosophy producing professional and community leaders that truly make a difference,” comments Tom Torti, President of the Lake Champlain Chamber.
