Why do you believe in sending your staff through Leadership Champlain? 

Downs Rachlin Martin is driven by a core set of values, the foundation of which is a responsibility to engage in and contribute to our communities.  In order to live up to these values, it is essential to participate in activities that enrich our understanding of the social, political, cultural, environmental, and economic makeup of the areas in which we live and work – and for this, Leadership Champlain has been an invaluable resource.

As attorneys, it’s easy to get stuck behind our desks, immersed in paperwork and research.  Leadership Champlain requires that we step out of our traditional roles.  Our participating employees have the opportunity to meet the leaders of and learn about the various governmental bodies, businesses, non-profits, and other organizations that keep our area thriving.  Our Leadership Champlain alumni are now more connected to their communities, have a better understanding of their roles within it, and have a greater appreciation of how we all can have a more positive and lasting impact on those around us.  Leadership Champlain teaches us that understanding the diversity and mechanisms at play in our communities, and working with that understanding, makes all the difference.
