Each evening consists of free appetizers from 5:30-6:00pm\, followed by a speaker and Q&A from 6:00 to 7:00pm in the South Burlington Public Library Auditorium within City Hall (180 Market Street). \nOn Tuesday\, March 31st\, hear from 5x CrossFit Champion Mat Fraser & HWPO Brand Officer Sammy Moniz. \nMat Fraser is the Founder and Chief Product Officer of HWPO Training and a retired Professional CrossFit Athlete. Mat’s mantra\, “Hard Work Pays Off” (HWPO)\, guided him to become the most decorated and dominant athlete in the history of CrossFit\, which now drives him in business. \nIn his competitive career\, he earned five consecutive CrossFit Games Titles as the Fittest Man on Earth (2016 – 2020) and finished on the podium seven consecutive times (2014-2020).\nBefore finding CrossFit\, Fraser had an entire career in Olympic Weightlifting. He was the 2009 Junior National Weightlifting Champion and a Resident Athlete at the Olympic Training Center. \nSammy is the voice\, vision and leader in culture at HWPO Training. She’s responsible for bringing our core values (SHOW UP. WORK HARD. MAKE YOURSELF PROUD.) to the forefront of everything we do and how we are represented in marketing and media. Before guiding the brand at HWPO she was the third wheel to Mat Fraser and Matt O’Keefe on the wild ride of collecting CrossFit® Championships while exploring a career in food blogging. \nSammy is a cookbook author and has run a successful food blog and Instagram famed for the food she created for 5x CrossFit Games Champion\, Mat Fraser called Feeding the Frasers. She has always loved the way food creates community and has taken the same approach to building a strong community within the walls of HWPO and beyond to our community of HARD WORKERS. DESCRIPTION:Founded in 1988\, the COTS Walk is one of our oldest and most important peer-to-peer fundraisers. Every year walkers of all ages from businesses\, schools\, religious organizations\, and neighborhoods come together from all over the region to participate. The Walk begins and ends in Battery Park with music from Jenni & the Jazz Junketeers\, as well as Ben & Jerry’s ice cream\, and fun activities. \nThis family-friendly event guides Walkers along a 3.6-mile route through downtown Burlington visiting some of the shelters and facilities that COTS operates. At this event\, COTS seeks to illustrate the path a person experiencing homelessness might take when utilizing COTS services to educate our community about homelessness in our region. Bring your friends\, family\, coworkers\, dogs\, and strollers…All are welcome! \nThis year the COTS Walk theme is Every Story Deserves a Home. Every person who walks through the doors of COTS’s shelters\, housing\, and service locations has a unique life story. At COTS\, we believe that every story matters\, and every person has the power to change the ending.
