DESCRIPTION:Join six regional organizations to hear directly from incumbent Chittenden County State’s Attorney Sarah George (D) and challenger Franklin County State’s Attorney Bram Kranichfeld (D) as they discuss their distinct visions for accountability\, diversion structures\, victim support\, and the future of justice in Chittenden County. \nPublic safety\, retail theft\, accountability\, and the quality of life in our commercial centers remain the most critical challenges facing Northwest Vermont’s business owners\, workers\, and residents. The decisions made by the Chittenden County State’s Attorney profoundly shape our local justice system\, the enforcement of laws\, and the economic vitality of our region. \nThe primary election is August 11th\, and the winner of that election will likely face no opponent in the November general election\, making the August primary potentially the only opportunity Chittenden County voters have to decide who will serve them as State’s Attorney for the next four years. \n\nImportant things to know about Vermont primary elections: \n\nImportance of Primaries: For many Vermont elected positions\, the only election the officeholder faces is the often-overlooked or forgotten primary election.\nPrimary Flexibility: Vermont utilizes an open primary system.
