June Spotlight: Nicholas Roop

1. What is your favorite part of your job?

My favorite part of my job is that I don’t see it as a job. I truly enjoy every minute of it. From helping clients that are just starting out, to empowering clients to feel comfortable and confident when making financial decisions., I love it all.

2. What impact do you want to have on your community?

I hope to be able to continue to positively impact families and business owners by leveraging Financial Planning. As I think about some of the major stressors in someone’s life, finances are generally in the top 3. Most of the folks I work with realize that they don’t have enough time to dedicate towards setting themselves up for financial success and realize it’s a problem. My goal is to be the solution.

3. What are you most proud of?

I’m most proud of my children. They are a reflection of our family, and constantly blow me away with their kindness, intelligence, and compassion for others.

4. What advice would you give to someone who wants to work in your field?

I’d let them know to prepare for a rollercoaster ride. It’s one of the most humbling careers you could ever join. There are long nights, early mornings, rejection, and an enormous amount of information to learn. If you join for the right reasons though, to help others, then I can promise the sacrifices will be worth it.

5. Where do you see yourself professionally in the next 5-10 years?

I hope to be a pillar of the community in the next 5-10 years. It’s important to me to give back and my hope is that I’ll continue to be able to do so through helping Vermonters with Financial Planning. My personal goal is to have a long lasting impact on our wonderful little state.
